Bjarke Ingels Breaks a Century of Phallic Skyline Vernacular.

With a Yonic Skyscraper.

Architects have often blessed our skylines with glass and steel phallic structures, some almost literally resembling a ding dong or sex toy (lookin’ at you Norman Foster).

Is that a skyscraper or is London just happy to see me?

I only have one witty joke about the male genitalia as it relates to architecture, but come on Norman, what are you doing?

Jean Nouvel wants in on this historic tradition as well.

It was only a matter of time until the innovative and ground breaking architecture firm BIG decided to set their gaze on the tradition. Women around the world rejoiced¹ as BIG revealed that they designed a giant vulva.

it only get’s more vulva-like the more angles you get.

Anyway, I don’t have much else to say about the design. It’s fine I guess? Looks like someone that just learned to create geometry in Rhino. It’s a least a new take on parametric design and if I’m being completely honest, I wouldn’t mind more vulvas to really break up the monotony of phalluses in every city in the entire world.
